Avigilon at 555 Robson Street

Vancouver, BC • 152,800 square feet

From our friends at Turner Construction Company an inside look into Avigilon’s HQ.  Avigilon, a Vancouver-headquartered designer, developer and manufacturer of advanced AI sought Canadian Turner Construction Company’s services for the Tenant Improvement (TI) project that took place in a ten-storey, 152,805 sq. ft. building, constructed in 1948. Located at 555 Robson Street in the heart of downtown Vancouver, the project consisted of a three-month demolition phase which included the removal of existing offices, meeting rooms, washrooms, lobby space, and a glass passenger elevator.

Specific scopes of work included the construction of open-concept offices on most floors, segregated private offices with demountable walls, open ceilings, a raised access floor for mechanical and electrical, the modification of the existing atrium glazing, replacement of exterior windows, installation of computer labs, food service areas, and new office finishes throughout.

A notable feature worth highlight in Avigilon’s space are the ‘pop-out’ meeting rooms, and office extensions overlooking the six-storey open-space atrium.  The atrium design also included additions to the structural steel staircase, and afforded immense space to liven-up the employee lounge with large, comfy couches, TVs, and foosball tables.
