Office Trends

After a holiday season of leisurely mornings, easing back into office life is much smoother with a great cup of coffee. Vancouver office lobbies featuring on-site cafés provide not just convenience but also a sense of community.

Elevating the Workday Experience

Cafés in building lobbies have become more than just places to grab a cup of coffee. These spaces foster connection, offering employees a chance to step away from the desk, network, or catch up with colleagues. They also play a role in employee well-being by providing a moment of relaxation and refreshment during the workday.

For building owners, offering on-site cafés is valuable way to attract and retain tenants, aligning with the firmly embedded flight to quality trend.  Here are some of our favorite spots to grab a coffee and jumpstart your day.

Vancouver Office Lobby Cafés

Here’s a quick look at some of our favourite local Vancouver coffee spots located in office lobbies.

1. Deville Coffee – The Post, 745 Thurlow Street, 325 Seymour Street, Bentall Centre

Originating in Calgary, Deville Coffee has now sprouted up in the lobbies of several prominent Vancouver office buildings including The Post (366 Dunsmuir Street), 745 Thurlow Street, 325 Seymour Street, and Bentall Centre (550 Burrard Street). Known for fostering connection, Deville serves thoughtfully crafted direct trade coffee to building tenants and visitors alike.

3. 49th Parallel Café & Lucky’s Doughnuts – The FortisBC Centre

This popular spot pairs excellent coffee with delicious treats, including their famous doughnuts. 4. Nemesis Coffee – The Slide

Although not technically located in a lobby, we would be amiss not to mention Nemesis Coffee in Mount Pleasant. Resembling a vibrant red flower and inspired by biophilic design, Nemesis Coffee’s False Creek Flats location is housed inside an iconic public art landmark in the Slide’s (565 Great Northern Way) public plaza. Designed to incorporate natural light, materials, and techniques creates a space that feels alive, bringing occupants closer to the natural environment.

5. Paul Le Café – VCII

Located in the lobby of premier AAA building Vancouver Centre II (733 Seymour Street), Paul Le Café is a grab-and-go spin-off of the iconic French café originally established in 1889. Known for its authentic French pastries, delicious sandwiches, and signature coffees, PAUL is a charming spot for tenants and visitors to enjoy a taste of Paris in the heart of Vancouver.

6. Pallet Coffee Roasters – 890 Howe Street

Located at 890 Howe Street, Howe Cafe is one of six Pallet Coffee Roaster locations in Vancouver. The design uses warm elements such as reclaimed wood, perforated metal, iron glass partitions, communal tables and of course pallets to create a warm but modern space.
