Matt Carlson, SIOR

Matt is an accomplished real estate executive and founding principal at Floorspace, a company he established in 2022 with his partner Lindsay to modernize the commercial real estate experience.

In his current role, he is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the business, revenue growth, and improving the customer experience for Floorspace’s brokers and clients.

Prior to Floorspace, Matt led the Canadian technology team at a global commercial real estate firm. There, he earned performance awards, including Canada’s top broker in 2020, and becoming the youngest person in his division to achieve Executive Vice President.

Recently honored with a 40 under 40 award from Business in Vancouver, Matt is deeply committed to advancing the industry. He recently co-authored a real estate course at UBC’s Sauder School of Business (CPD 109 – Lease Analysis), which forms part of the Degree in Urban Land Development Program, and he is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences and events.

Matt’s clients include professional firms, institutions, fast growing startups, and multi-national public companies. Over his career, he has completed more than 700 projects accounting for $1.75 billion in aggregate value, including large, multi-year consulting projects in major cities across North America.

Outside of work, Matt lives in North Vancouver with his wife and two young children. He is an avid road cyclist and trail runner, having completed numerous races, including an ultramarathon from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove across the North Shore mountains.
